Frequently asked questions

The questions traders
actually ask us.

Anything missing? Email us and we'll add it.

How is this different from a trading journal?

A journal logs what happened after the session ends. By the time you review on Sunday, the loop has already run.

PsyRule names the behavioral sequence behind your worst sessions — your trigger, your usual wait time, your typical sizing escalation — and surfaces it the next time it starts to run, before the trade.

Which prop firms does PsyRule work with?

PsyRule reads from your trading platform (MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, cTrader, NinjaTrader). That means it works with FTMO, The Funded Trader, Topstep, Apex, and most challenge providers that use those platforms.

If your firm uses a proprietary platform, we'll likely need to add support specifically — email us with the firm name.

Will PsyRule block me from placing trades?

No. PsyRule shows the rule and the cost; the decision is yours. The default intervention is a 90-second hold with a clear "Override" option.

We don't believe in hard blockers — comply once and you learn nothing. We want you to see the loop, then choose.

How does it personalize the rules to me?

Every rule is built from your own session history. We measure your normal re-entry time, your normal sizing, your normal post-loss behavior — and then we name your specific patterns. The "revenge loop" you see isn't generic advice; it's your trigger, your sequence, your historical cost.

The first 2–3 weeks PsyRule is mostly listening. Rules sharpen as your data builds.

What data do you collect, and where is it stored?

We read trade history (timestamp, symbol, size, direction, P&L) and your pre-session check-in answers (mood, sleep, focus, plan). We don't store your platform credentials — sync uses read-only API tokens you generate in your platform.

Data is encrypted at rest and stored on EU servers. You can export everything as JSON or delete your account at any time from settings.

Can I use it during a funded challenge?

Yes — and that's when it matters most. Challenge phase is where the patterns we describe (revenge loop, green-day giveback, challenge pressure) cost the most: an avg ~$2,000 fee per blown challenge.

PsyRule doesn't violate prop-firm rules. It's a read-only observer plus a notification layer on your end.

What if PsyRule misidentifies a pattern?

You can mark any intervention as "false positive" with one tap. The model adjusts. We expect the first month to have some over-firing — that's the cost of personalization. After ~30 sessions, false-positive rate typically drops below 10%.

Refund policy?

30-day no-questions refund on the founding plan. If PsyRule hasn't surfaced at least one pattern that you'd describe as "yours" in 30 days, email us and we'll refund.

Why $12/mo, and will the price go up?

$12/mo is the founding price for the first 100 customers, locked for life. After founding closes, the standard plan will be $19/mo. Founding customers stay at $12/mo as long as their subscription is active.

The price reflects the cost of building personalized behavioral models per user — this is not a generic dashboard.

Who built this and why?

PsyRule was built by a former failed prop-firm trader — now trading a funded account full-time — who'd lost three challenges in a row to the same revenge loop and realized no tool would have caught it. The founder works on PsyRule full-time and is reachable at psyrule.app@gmail.com.
